Bidding on Competitors’ Brands

One thing advertisers love to do their competitors is bid on their brand keywords. And of course, they hate it when it's done to them. It's not something I'm personally fond of, and opinions on this practice vary across the industry. But I think I know what one UK SEM agency's opinion is! I thought I'd have quick look at the Search Works' site, and being the lazy navigational searcher that I am, I typed their name into the Google toolbar. Here's what I got back:
All credit to Latitude, I love a bit of cage rattling like this. Unfortunately, when I clicked on the ad I got a server error:
MySQL ERROR:
Error Number: 1016
Description: Can't open file: 'exp_throttle.MYI'. (errno: 145)
Query: SELECT hits, locked_out, last_activity FROM exp_throttle WHERE ip_address= 'xx.xx.xx.xx'
Oh well, another evil plan bites the dust. Don't tell me this is just one of those unfortunate broad matching incidents; just look at the query string destination URL: http://www.searchlatitude.com/?campaign=google_competitors&kw=search+works.
